RE:            Architect/Engineer Visits

Saint Paul Public Schools recently hired Wold Architects and Engineers to perform a Building Automation Direct Digital Controls (D.D.C.) Conversion Study for each of the District’s owned buildings. The building automation system controls the ventilation and mechanical systems, and interfaces with fire alarm, lighting control and security systems.  The study will help the School District explore energy saving opportunities through the installation of Direct Digital Controls.

In order to gather information for the study, representatives of Wold Architects and Engineers will be walking through each of our buildings.  Walkthroughs will start immediately and continue through the end of December 2009. The majority of the effort will occur in non-student occupied spaces including boiler rooms and mechanical air handler rooms.  They will however, need to visit representative classrooms to inventory the mechanical systems providing ventilation to those rooms. An example of this type of equipment might be a unit ventilator. The goal will be to access those rooms when they are un-occupied, however there may be times that a five minute visit to a representative classroom will be required.  The goal of these walkthroughs is to minimize impact on educational spaces as much as possible.

You will be contacted at least 48 hours prior to the visit to insure that you are aware of the team’s presence in your facility.  Thank you for your cooperation in this effort.
